Terms of use

Draft for counsel review — September 19, 2026. This version covers this site, including the grai.ls app it runs.

These terms cover your use of this website and of the grai.ls app. The site is two things: information pages about card collecting, and the app itself, where you can create an account. By using the site or creating an account, you agree to them.

What this site is

This site provides general information for card collectors — guides on topics such as grading, parallels, and slabs — and it runs the grai.ls app: cards by name, number and set, with what is listed for each on the marketplaces the site is connected to. What it can see depends on those marketplaces, and that coverage changes. You do not need an account to read the guides. Where the app offers an account, what you save to it — the cards you name and the limits you set on them — is private to that account.

Your account

An account takes an email address and a password. We email a code to confirm the address is yours. You must be 13 or older to create one — grai.ls is not for children under 13.

The account is yours to look after: keep the password to yourself, and tell us at hello@grai.ls if you think someone else is using it. What is done through your account is treated as done by you.

Either side can end it. You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@grai.ls — we delete the account and the cards saved on it, as the privacy notice says, and we do not ask you for a reason. We can close or suspend an account that breaches these terms, and we say why when we do. Either way, closing an account deletes the cards saved on it, so keep your own note of anything you want to keep.

Listings and alerts

grai.ls is a discovery layer, not a marketplace. We do not sell cards, hold stock, take payment, or hold money between a buyer and a seller, and we are not a party to any sale you make. The sale is between you, the seller, and the marketplace hosting the listing, and so is every remedy for it — returns, refunds, and buyer protection are theirs, under their rules.

What we show about a listing comes from the marketplace that hosts it and the seller who wrote it. We do not guarantee that a listing is accurate, that it is still available, or that its price is what it appears to be. Nothing in the app authenticates a card, a slab, or a seller, and nothing we put beside a listing — a price band, a match verdict, a place in a trending list — vouches for the card, the slab, or the seller. Verify a cert with the grading company itself, and read the marketplace's own protections, before you buy.

Where the app offers alerts and a feed, they are best-effort. A listing can be missed, a marketplace can change or withdraw one, a match can be wrong in both directions — a card you wanted that does not reach you, a card you did not want that does — and delivery depends on networks, devices, and services outside our control. An alert is a pointer to something worth your own look, not a promise that the card is there or that it is what the listing says.

Informational content, not advice

The guides on this site are for general information. They are not financial, investment, purchasing, or authentication advice. Card values move, grading standards and populations change, and marketplaces revise their rules; a fact that was accurate when a guide was written may not stay accurate. We work to keep the guides correct and to date time-sensitive claims, but we make no warranty — express or implied — about the accuracy, completeness, or currency of anything on this site. Decisions about buying, selling, or grading cards are yours, and we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on the site's content. Nothing on this site authenticates any card or listing, or vouches for any seller.

Affiliate links

Some links from grai.ls to a marketplace can carry a tracking code. Where one does, the marketplace pays us a commission if you buy after following it; what you pay is the same either way. Any link that pays us says so beside the link, where you can read it before you follow it, and the affiliate disclosure sets out the arrangement in full. A commission does not decide what you are shown: a listing that matches your grail is shown whether or not we earn from it.

Intellectual property

The text and original content on this site belong to grai.ls and may not be republished commercially without permission. Card names, set names, logos, and related marks referenced in our guides belong to their respective owners — including The Pokémon Company and other game publishers — and grading-company names such as PSA, CGC, and TAG belong to theirs. grai.ls is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them, and no marketplace endorses or sponsors grai.ls: we have no commercial relationship with eBay or any other marketplace beyond the affiliate arrangement described above and in the affiliate disclosure. References to these names are for identification only.

Third-party sites

Guides may reference or link to third-party websites, such as marketplaces or grading companies. Those sites have their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, or conduct.

Acceptable use

Use the site for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt it, misrepresent an affiliation with grai.ls, or scrape and republish its content as your own.

With an account, that also means: keep it to yourself rather than sharing or selling access to it, do not sign in as anyone else, do not collect the catalogue, listings, or prices out of the app by automated means, and do not resell what grai.ls tells you as an alerting service of your own. Any of these is grounds for closing the account.

Changes

We may update the site and these terms. When these terms change, this page will be updated and the date at the top revised.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [State — counsel to confirm], without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
